The Project
The Project
I was brought on as a consultant to review existing curricula and create templates and processes to streamline future curriculum writing. The program's focus on fostering agency inspired the creation of templates that support the confident implementation of identity-affirming units. To support the client as they bring youth into the curriculum writing process, the templates focus on the narrative nature of curriculum writing, providing an accessible entry-point for students.

Reviewed existing curriculum materials, met with the founder, and reviewed foundational research to better understand the client's goals and approach.
Attended meetings with the curriculum development team to internalize their process and needs.
Organized existing units into a cohesive narrative aligned to the program's goals and created a program-wide map inspired by curriculum storyboards to highlight the progression of knowledge and identify opportunities for new units.
Restructured the existing units' facilitation guides to provide a map for internalizing unit goals, content, flow, and underlying research.
Designed ready-to-use facilitation guide templates to create consistency across program materials, streamline the development process, and provide youth interns with authentic and accessible materials for lesson design.
