About Morgan Stickle

Who am I?

A friend, partner, aunt, sister, daughter, poetry lover, swimmer, reader, writer, learner, and (of course) educator. In addition to the countless hours I spent playing "school" with my stuffed animals and childhood friends, I have accrued seven years of K-12 teaching experience and three years in curriculum writing and leadership.

I first found my home in the field of education helping secondary multilingual learners develop their voices through language and literature. I valued the time spent discussing modern issues and creating authentic, personal projects with my students, but I was struck by the feeling that my curriculum and practices did not represent and serve all my students. Pushed by a desire to fill the gaps in my own knowledge and skills, I returned to the student side of the classroom for a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching.

Now, I am a freelance curriculum writer dedicated to centering student identity and anti-racist practices. Whether through language, literature, civics, digital media, or the news, my mission is to support teachers and students with content that fosters critical consciousness and attends to the social, emotional, and academic well-being of all learners.
